Wolfsbetreuer
Die Wolfsbetreuer sind ein wichtiger Bestandteil des Wolfsmanagementplans. Sie nehmen eine beratende und vermittelnde Rolle ein.
Ausbildung der Wolfsbetreuer
Interessierte Vertreter der betroffenen Verbände sowie Behördenvertreter werden zu diesem Zweck zu Wolfsbetreuern ausgebildet. Die Verbände melden dem Ministerium für Landwirtschaft, Umwelt und ländliche Räume entsprechend geeignete Personen. Darüber hinaus können auch besonders geeignete Einzelpersonen ausgebildet werden. Die Kosten für diese Ausbildung sowie eventuell notwendige Aufwandsentschädigungen werden aus Mitteln des Landes Schleswig-Holstein finanziert.
Aufgabe der Wolfsbetreuer
Zuverlässige Informationen über die Situation der Wölfe in Deutschland sind eine unverzichtbare Voraussetzung für deren Schutz und um bestehende Ängste und Vorurteile in der Bevölkerung abzubauen. Diese Aufgabe übernimmt künftig ein ehrenamtliches Wolfsbetreuerteam. Aufgabe dieser Wolfsbetreuer ist es, vor Ort Informationen zu den Wölfen und ihrer Lebensweise zu vermitteln, sowie direkter Ansprechpartner für die Bevölkerung zu sein. Weitere Aufgabe der Wolfsbetreuer ist es, Wolfshinweise (z.B. Fährten, Kot, Risse) zu erfassen und den Sammelstellen (Ministerium für Landwirtschaft, Umwelt und Raumordnung SH (MLUR), Wildpark Eekholt) zuzuleiten. Ein weiteres Tätigkeitsfeld ist die Beratung, wie Nutztierhalter ihre Herden vor Wölfen schützen können. Bei Tierverlusten, bei denen der Wolf in Verdacht steht, werden die Wolfsbetreuer zur Beurteilung hinzugezogen.
Der Wildpark Eekholt soll insbesondere bei der Koordinierung von Präventionsmaßnahmen, der Ausbildung von Wolfsbetreuern und der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit eine hervorgehobene Rolle spielen.
